Sylvia, widow of Rexford Clark and a longtime resident of Wilmette, Ill., died Aug. 15, 2001. She was born Aug. 4, 1909, at Champaign, Champaign County, Ill., the daughter of Ellery Burton and Mable (Hyde) Paine. She and Rexford were married on May 11, 1935, at Urbana, Campaign County, Ill. He died in July, 1984. She was devoted member of the Baha’i Faith.

Sylvia Badieh Paine Parmelee, 92, longtime resident of Wilmette, devoted member of the Baha’i Faith, wife of the late Rexford C. Parmelee; mother of Richard (Catherine), Ellen and Marian (Tom) Dessent; grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of three.

Sylvia was held as a young child by Abdu’l-Baha during his visit to the United States in 1912, he gave her the name Badieh.
